WASHINGTON – Home Minority Chief Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., condemned Thanksgiving Day threats towards Democratic lawmakers that ranged from “detailed threats of a pipe bomb positioned in mailboxes to swatting” in an announcement on Friday.
A number of Home Democrats from Connecticut, together with Reps. Jahana Hayes, Jim Himes, and Joe Courtney, have been the targets of bomb threats at their houses on Thursday.
“Due to the swift response from legislation enforcement, no gadgets have been discovered and Members of Congress and their households have been stored protected on the vacation,” Jeffries wrote.
Jeffries wrote that the threats towards Democrats have been signed with “MAGA” (Make America Nice Once more), the slogan for President-elect Donald Trump’s marketing campaign.
The threats got here a day after a number of of Trump’s cupboard nominees obtained comparable bomb threats.

“America is a democracy. Threats of violence towards elected officers are unacceptable, unconscionable and haven’t any place in a civilized society. All perpetrators of political violence directed at any occasion should be prosecuted to the total extent of the legislation,” Jeffries wrote.
