Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed willingness to determine a committee led by a retired decide to look at the contentious points surrounding Waqf properties in Karnataka. He added that the matter will not be a status challenge for the federal government and reiterated its dedication to resolving the controversy.

Responding to the BJP’s allegations, Siddaramaiah identified that the central authorities enacted the Wakf Act in 1954, a legislation that state governments can’t alter. He criticised the BJP for not addressing the difficulty throughout its tenure. “The BJP-led authorities was in energy within the state from 2008 to 2013 and from 2019 to 2023. Ashoka accused the Congress authorities of favouring minorities, saying, “Withdrawing the Waqf-related notices won’t resolve the issue. It’s merely a tactic to deceive the folks.
