Taylor joins the firm with a robust background spanning over two decades in senior leadership within the hospitality industry, marking a significant addition to the team led by founder Olivier Zardoni since 2013.
Alex Taylor’s journey into hospitality began following his academic pursuits at Duke University and the Texas McCombs School of Business. Initially on track for law, Taylor’s passion for hospitality led him to immerse himself in operations within the food & beverage sector. He honed his skills in various roles, notably with Starbucks and later as General Manager of Craftsteak at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where he made his mark in the renowned hospitality scene.
Taylor’s career continued to ascend as Director of Food and Beverage at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, followed by a pivotal role as Executive Director of Food & Beverage at Wynn’s $2.4 Billion Encore Resort and Casino. His entrepreneurial spirit flourished as he ventured into ownership of Due Forni and founded a boutique consulting firm, solidifying his reputation as a visionary leader.
Most recently, Taylor served as Chief Operating Officer at Upward Projects Restaurant Group, where he significantly expanded its flagship concept, Postino, across multiple states. His tenure there underscored his strategic acumen in driving operational growth and fostering innovative F&B concepts.
At 34th Floor Hospitality, Taylor’s expertise will be instrumental in expanding consulting services, project development, and third-party management initiatives. The firm’s portfolio boasts collaborations with top-tier brands such as TopGolf, Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, MGM International, and Hilton Worldwide, with notable projects including Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and Baha Mar in the Bahamas.
