Brigid McDonnell has joined Virtuoso as General Manager for the Middle East and Africa
Brigid McDonnell has been appointed as the first-ever General Manager, Middle East & Africa, of Virtuoso ®, the premier global network that specializes in luxury and immersive travel, to lead the network’s continued expansion efforts in the region. McDonnell is in charge of managing every aspect of the market, including hiring and developing a committed staff, putting a regional business plan into action, and serving as the Virtuoso network’s local point of contact in the Middle East and Africa. Her appointment to this position was announced at Virtuoso’s Symposium, a high-level business gathering that took place in Dubai this year and included executives from the network’s best agencies and preferred partners.
McDonnell has extensive global experience in the travel industry and brings this expertise to Virtuoso. Her most recent position was as Trade Executive Director for the Saudi Tourism Authority, where she oversaw the company’s trade policy for the United States market. She had previously worked for the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau in Honolulu, Disney Destinations in Paris, and EMI Meetings & Incentives in Rome.
McDonnell attended the esteemed Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, where she took part in the Strategic Alliances and Managing Relationships Program, and Southern Illinois University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
McDonnell is based in Dubai and answers to Londregan. He has joined a strategic team consisting of eight regional general managers.
