BARMER: A 44-year-old Border Safety Power (BSF) constable posted in Shahgarh space of Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district, died by suicide on Thursday, a police officer mentioned.

The officer mentioned the deceased, a resident of Hoshiarpur in Punjab, was deployed alongside the Indo-Pakistan border.

Shahgarh police station in-charge Babu Ram mentioned the BSF personnel was on responsibility when he turned the service weapon upon himself. His colleagues who got here to the spot after listening to the gunshot discovered him unresponsive, he mentioned.
