General Manager David Bilbe has been appointed to The Royal Sonesta New Orleans.
Experienced in the hospitality business, David Bilbe has been appointed General Manager of the Royal Sonesta New Orleans, a chic and sophisticated landmark in the center of the French Quarter. With its exploration and destination immersion features, the hotel gives visitors a front-row seat to a genuine New Orleans experience, and David Bilbe’s leadership is greatly appreciated by the team. As part of his job, Bilbe will be in charge of managing the 483-key hotel’s daily operations, staff development, and guest satisfaction.
Bilbe brings more than 20 years of experience managing and running hotels in the United States to Royal Sonesta, along with a wealth of knowledge in the hospitality sector. After spending the last seven years as general manager of the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel, he comes to Royal Sonesta. At the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel, Bilbe oversaw a staff of more than 200 employees in charge of all hotel operations, including facility management, financial outcomes, and superior guest satisfaction. Bilbe held more than ten years of experience in sales and marketing roles before taking on the role of operations manager at the Westin New Orleans Canal Place Hotel, Loews New Orleans Hotel, Historic Courtyard by Marriott Downtown, and International House New Orleans respectively.
Bilbe has held a variety of positions at numerous professional organizations, including the French Quarter Festival, the Greater New Orleans Hotel and Lodging Association, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, the French Quarter Management District, and New Orleans and Company, in addition to his management responsibilities. Bilbe has also been the recipient of several amazing honors, including the Eagle Award from Sage Hospitality, the General Manager of the Year title from Loews Hotels, and Where Magazine New Orleans.
