Congress chief Pawan Khera on Monday sought to dismiss Bharatiya Janata Social gathering (BJP) IT Cell head Amit Malviya’s accusation that no Congress chief was current to gather the stays of former prime minister Manmohan Singh after his cremation, saying that it was a call taken in session with the bereaved household to respect their privateness.
“Senior Congress leaders didn’t accompany the household to assemble and immerse the ashes of S. Manmohan Singh ji out of our deference to the privateness of the household. After the cremation of our beloved departed chief, Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji and Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra ji met the household at their residence,” Khera, chairman of the Congress’ media and publicity division, stated in a press release.
He emphasised that this choice was made in session with the household. “After discussing with them, it was felt that for the reason that household didn’t get any privateness on the time of the cremation and a few prolonged relations couldn’t attain the pyre web site, it will be acceptable to offer them some privateness for the Phool Chunana and the immersion of the ashes which is an emotionally painful and tough ceremony for shut relations,” he stated.
