Avocet Hospitality is pleased to announce the appointment of Ed Conway as the new General Manager of The Admiral Hotel, an artistic and lively destination just steps from Mobile’s vibrant entertainment district.
Originally from San Mateo, California, Conway’s journey in hospitality began at the Sheraton Hotel in West Springfield, MA, where he gained valuable experience in multiple guest service roles. While earning his M.S. in Hospitality Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he continued developing his expertise as a front desk clerk. Throughout his career, Ed has thrived in independent boutique hotels, bringing a deep understanding of personalized service and operational excellence.
Conway most recently served as General Manager of The Whitehall Hotel in Chicago, a 222-room boutique property where he led rebranding efforts and strategic revenue growth. Previously, he spent 16 years as General Manager of Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa in Arizona, where his leadership earned the hotel the prestigious AAA Four Diamond award. He also played a key role as Asset Manager for Sedona Life Center, overseeing the development of two hotel projects totaling 350 rooms.
Conway arrives with a clear goal of continuing to lead The Admiral on its unending quest for excellence. His strategic vision, forged through years of leadership in branding, revenue management, and guest service excellence, makes him the driving force behind The Admiral’s next chapter of success.
Outside of work, Conway is an avid golfer and hiker, finding solace in nature. He also cherishes creating lasting memories with his two sons through shared travel adventures, culinary explorations, and attending various sporting events and concerts.
