Senior Congress chief and former Union Minister EVKS Elangovan died as a result of age-related illnesses at a personal hospital right here on Saturday, the hospital mentioned.

The legislator from Erode East constituency has not been preserving properly for over a month. He was admitted to a hospital on November 11.

“He handed away right this moment regardless of the most effective efforts of the medical employees,” the hospital mentioned.

TNCC president Ok Selvaperunthagai described the passing of Elangovan as “an enormous loss”. “He was an outspoken particular person and his demise is an irreparable loss to his household and the Congress occasion, and to me personally,” he mentioned.
