IHG Makes a Bold Move—Bryan Chan Appointed Vice President of Development for South East Asia & Korea!

In a strategic leadership shift, IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the appointment of Bryan Chan as Vice President, Development for South East Asia and Korea. With IHG’s ambitious growth plans in the region, Bryan will play a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint, strengthening relationships, and driving high-impact hospitality projects.

A Decade of Rising Leadership at IHG

Having been with IHG for over 10 years, Bryan’s career trajectory within the company has been nothing short of remarkable. He has steadily climbed the ranks in the Development function, moving from Manager to Senior Director, and has worked across dynamic markets including Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Philippines, South Korea, and Vietnam.

His expertise extends beyond regional growth—Bryan also spent a year at IHG’s Windsor headquarters, working on large-scale complex projects, including the landmark Novum partnership in Germany.

A Leader with a Vision for Hospitality Growth

Bryan’s appointment comes at a crucial time as IHG looks to expand its brands and experiences across South East Asia and Korea. His deep expertise in:
Hospitality, real estate, and corporate finance
Strategic development and investment planning
Resort and city destination projects

This makes him the perfect choice to spearhead IHG’s next phase of expansion in the region.

A Transformational Era for IHG

Rajit Sukumaran, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, East Asia & Pacific, IHG, expressed confidence in Bryan’s leadership:

“With Bryan’s extensive regional and global experience, from working in Singapore to our Global Headquarters in Windsor, I am confident we have the right leader to continue growing our brands across city and resort destinations.”

What’s Next for IHG Under Bryan Chan’s Leadership?

Bryan himself is excited to take on this transformational role, stating:

“I feel privileged to lead and support IHG’s growth in South East Asia & Korea. I look forward to working with our partners to reimagine heritage sites, develop downtown city projects, and create thoughtful resort experiences.”

IHG’s Expansion Plans—The Road Ahead

With 137 hotels currently operating and 86 more in the pipeline, IHG is aggressively pushing growth across 11 brands in South East Asia and Korea. Plans are in place to introduce Garner, IHG’s midscale conversion brand, in key markets over the next few years.

Is this the beginning of IHG’s next major expansion wave? All eyes are on Bryan Chan!
