Ilkin Imanov has been appointed chair of Marriott Business Council Qatar
Ilkin Imanov, general manager of the Westin Doha, has been named chair of the Marriott Business Council Qatar.
Operations, sales & marketing, revenue management, new hotel openings, and owner relations are just a few of the hotel management-related topics he has experience with. From Euclea Business School/Imperial State University in France and Azerbaijan State Languages University, he received an MBA in hospitality management.
His contributions to the industry have earned him multiple accolades, such as Marriott Hotels & Resorts’ 2015 Excellence in Delivering Guest Experience Award and the Highly Successful GM of Qatar at the GM International Award 2023.
General managers and associates from all brands and business functions in particular markets or regions around the world make up the Marriott Business Council. These councils work together to tackle shared issues for greater effect, whether it be through event hosting, lobbying on behalf of the hotel industry, year-round community support or in the wake of a disaster, cost-cutting, revenue-generating, or inspiring colleagues to support worthy causes.

Imanov held the position of general manager at Courtyard by Marriott St. Petersburg before joining The Westin Doha. In other nations, he held positions at the JW Marriott, Marriott, and Renaissance brands of Marriott. He previously held the position of Eastern European member of the Marriott rooms advisory board.
