A 35-year-old lady died, and her nine-year-old son was critically injured in a stampede at a theatre which was screening Allu Arjun-starrer “Pushpa-2: The Rule” in Hyderabad late on Wednesday evening, police stated on Thursday.
The incident befell at Sandhya 70 mm theatre on the busy RTC Cross Roads close to Musheerabad at round 10pm. The deceased was recognized as Revathi.
“She, alongside together with her husband Bhaskar (42), son and daughter from Dilsukhnagar space, got here to the theatre at round 9:30pm for the premier present of Pushpa-2: The Rule, for which they’d booked the ticket prematurely,” a police official of the Chikkadpally police station stated.
All the space housing many different cinema theatres, was filled with hundreds of followers of Allu Arjun.
“What compounded the chaos was the arrival of the hero, together with the movie crew, to Sandhya 70 mm, to observe the present. This led to a stampede-like scenario, because the frenzied followers surged ahead to have a glimpse of the actor,” a police official stated.
Because the scenario spiralled uncontrolled, police personnel resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the crowds.
“The household, which was standing close to the theatre entrance, was jostled and pushed down by the crowds. Whereas Bhaskar and his daughter managed to flee with gentle accidents, Revanthi and the minor son had been trampled by the crowds,” the police official added.
