A 52-year-old police officer sustained head accidents after being attacked with a stick by a person obstructing site visitors within the Malad space of Mumbai in Maharashtra, information company PTI reported citing officers on Wednesday.

The incident came about on Tuesday when Assistant Sub-Inspector Manik Sawant was patrolling the Kachpada locality in Malad alongside his colleagues in a police van.

What occurred?

ASI Sawant seen a site visitors jam and bought out to clear the street on Tuesday, after which he noticed a person intentionally blocking autos, in accordance with an official.

The officer then approached the person, pulled him apart, and requested him to depart the spot. Enraged, the person threatened to kill the officer, picked up a stick, and struck Sawant on the pinnacle. The blow brought on Sawant to lose consciousness and fall, the official stated.

“The accused fled the scene, leaving the stick behind. The opposite two officers within the cell van shortly rushed Sawant to Tunga Hospital in Malad, the place he regained consciousness after remedy,” the official stated.

The sub-inspector issued a challan and impounded the bike. Later the biker referred to as his uncle, who arrived on the scene and commenced arguing with the officer over the challan issued to his nephew. The accused then assaulted the officer and obstructed his duties.

The officer instantly notified the division no 1 police, who arrived on the location and commenced an investigation. A case beneath sections 353, 186, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code has been filed towards the accused.
