Nationalist Congress Get together (NCP) chief Nawab Malik on Sunday predicted that Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar will emerge as a ‘kingmaker’ within the subsequent authorities formation within the state after meeting elections. 

“It’s a neck-and-neck battle in Maharashtra. We won’t be sure about who will get a transparent majority. One or two events is not going to type the federal government. There are a number of events in each alliances. Nonetheless, it’s sure that no authorities could be shaped with out contemplating Ajit Pawar,” the previous Maharashtra minister advised ANI.

In one other interview with PTI, Malik claimed that there are speculations about NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar and Eknath Shinde becoming a member of palms.

“There’s politics of Aaya Ram gaya Raam (the dynamics are shifting) with Congress leaders transferring to the Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) and BJP leaders becoming a member of Congress. Those that have been within the BJP have joined the NCP,” he advised ANI.

In Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar, Malik is pitted towards Samajwadi Get together nominee and MVA-backed sitting MLA Abu Azmi and Shiv Sena’s Suresh Patil.

“You may’t win the meeting elections with 28,000 votes. It’s true that Mahayuti has put up a candidate (Sena’s Suresh Patil) there, however I’m not within the fray out of my very own will however that of the individuals. I’m assured that I will probably be elected,” PTI quoted Malik as saying.

Mahayuti allies BJP, Shiv Sena opposed candidature of Malik

The Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, allies of NCP within the ruling Mahayuti alliance, have opposed Nawab Malik’s candidature. 

“Now we have already clarified our place. We is not going to marketing campaign for him at any value,” Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis stated.

Malik was arrested in a cash laundering case and can also be accused of getting hyperlinks with individuals near fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim. He was granted medical bail in August 2023 on medical grounds. 

The Maharashtra Meeting elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
