NEET-UG 2024 Revised Results Yet to Be Declared
The Education Ministry on Thursday clarified that the indications made by some people that the final revised results for NEET-UG 2024 have been declared are untrue and requested to wait for the updates. This statement was made following an incident where an old link, got leaked on the National Testing Agency (NTA) website, as a result of which many people thought fresh scorecards had been released.
An official from the Ministry said, “Regarding REVISIONS being made in the scores in NEET-UG 2024, there has been no announcement made to this effect. Please wait for official information. ” This confusion was as a result of a link that was brought from a previous re-test of the 1,563 candidates which was mistakenly posted on the NTA website. This led to some cross-utilization where it was assumed that new scorecards can be downloaded, which was not the case.
The requirement for a modification arose after the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi gave the CBSE directions to reduce five marks for those who provided the wrong answer to a specific question on Physics. This will be followed by the third rebawing of the scores which impacts all the 23 lakh candidates including those who secured full marks in the exam.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had informed that the normalized scores of NEET-UG will be released in two days. While responding to allegations attributed by the member of the congress party particularly Mallikarjun Kharge about leakage of NEET-UG paper, Mr. Pradhan affirmed the government’s zeal towards preserving the credibility of examinations. He observed thus, “Our government wants to have perfect and incorruptible examinations, which is why a few have been suspended and delayed. ”
The minister of education and those in the ministry responsible for announcing the results calm all the candidates saying that the revised results will be released as soon as possible and with all the necessary details disclosed.
