Rob Smith has joined Stonebridge Companies as president and chief executive officer.
Rob Smith has been appointed as the new president and chief executive officer of Stonebridge Companies, LLC (“Stonebridge”), a creative, privately-owned hotel management company with a variety of full-service, select-service, and extended-stay properties located in Denver. In July, Mr. Smith will become a member of the team to supervise Stonebridge’s operations. He will answer to Stonebridge’s Board of Directors and oversee the creation and implementation of the company’s long-term strategies. Following Mr. Smith’s appointment, Stonebridge’s founder, Navin Dimond, who established the company in 1991, will assume the position of Chairman.
Mr. Smith is a seasoned leader in the hospitality sector who offers Stonebridge a plethora of experience. Over the course of his nearly 30-year career, he has held important positions with a number of hospitality businesses. He was most recently Aimbridge Hospitality’s Division President. He played a key role in the expansion of the full-service, luxury, and resort portfolio during his twelve years at Aimbridge. Before that, he lived for nearly twenty years in the Caribbean, where he worked for the island of Aruba as President and CEO of the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association and Aruba Convention Bureau, in addition to holding positions at several sizable resort properties. Along the way, he has held successful positions as general manager of numerous sizable resorts in the Caribbean and the United States. In addition, Mr. Smith is currently a member of the Marriott Rooms Advisory Board, the Westin Brand Advisory Board, and the AHLA Board of Directors.
