Temple Trust Asks Shankaracharya To Back Legal Action Concerning Gold Theft

Swami Avimukteshwaranand, the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath, made accusations on Wednesday that 228 kg of gold had been taken from the Kedarnath Temple. Ajendra Ajay, the chairman of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, addressed the claims.

Speaking exclusively to ANI, Mr. Ajay expressed his regret over Swami Avimukteshwaranand’s claims that gold had vanished from Kedarnath Dham. He implored the Shankaracharya to give the information.

“The statement made by Swami Avimukteshwaranand regarding the disappearance of gold in Kedarnath Dham is very unfortunate, and I would like to request him, and also challenge him, to bring out the facts,” stated Ajay.

Ajendra Ajay continued, saying that Swami Avimukteshwaranand should demand an investigation from the appropriate authorities rather than making assertions. If he has proof, he may even file a plea in the Supreme or High Court.

He should go before the competent authority and demand an inquiry, and if he doesn’t trust them, he should go to the Supreme Court or High Court, file a petition, and ask for an inquiry if he has evidence,” Ajay said.

The head of the temple committee went on to say that the Shankaracharya has no authority to degrade Kedarnath Dham’s reputation. It is quite regrettable, he said, if Swami Avimukteshwaranand is acting in order to pursue a political goal.

“He has no right to disparage Kedarnath Dham’s honor or stir up debate over it. It is quite sad if all he is doing is protesting, stirring up controversy, and advancing Congress’s agenda,” Mr. Ajay said.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand said on Monday, July 15, that 228 kilograms of gold had vanished from Kedarnath.

“Why isn’t the gold fraud in Kedarnath being brought up? Now that they have perpetrated a fraud there, Delhi will build Kedarnath? There will then be yet another con. There is a 228 kilogram lost gold in Kedarnath; no investigation has been launched. Who has the blame for this?” said Swami Avimukteshwaranand.

The Shankaracharya also asserted that requests to look into this matter had been made to the

“320 kg of gold was reported to have gone missing earlier; after that, the amount dropped to 228 and then concurrently increased to 36, 32, and 27. Regardless of the number—320, 228, 36, 32, or 27—the question is: Where did it disappear to? How does brass transform from gold? The Commissioner has been contacted with requests for an inquiry, but he failed to conduct a thorough probe.
What may be the cause of the gold vanishing from the temple? This is a massive fraud, declared Swami Avimukteshwaranand.
