Travel influencer Aanvi Kamdar dies next to a Maharashtra waterfall in a 300-foot canyon

Travel influencer Aanvi Kamdar, 27, of Mumbai passed away tragically after falling into a gorge while shooting an Instagram Reel at the well-known Kumbhe Waterfall in the Raigad area of Maharashtra. Known as @theglocaljournal on Instagram, Kamdar was a chartered accountant who attracted a sizable following by sharing her travelogues.

With a group of seven pals, Kamdar had gone on an expedition to the waterfall on July 16. A Mangaon police station officer stated that woman slipped and fell while filming a video during the excursion, falling over a 300-foot canyon.

Her companions reported the event to the local authorities, who promptly organized a rescue effort. The Maharashtra State Electricity Board employees, the Coast Guard, and the Kolad rescue squad all offered assistance in addition to the rescue crew.

As soon as we arrived, we realized the girl had fallen between 300 and 350 feet. It was pouring wet and she was hurt, so even when they got to her, it was hard to bring her up. Thus, we made the decision to use a vertical pulley to remove her.

Large stones that fell down the gorge further hindered the rescue efforts, another individual participating in the operation told Lokmat. After a six-hour struggle, Kamdar was successfully extracted from the fissure in spite of these difficulties. Regretfully, not long after being rescued, she passed away in the Mangaon taluka government hospital from her wounds.
