Manbeer Choudhary, CMD, Jewel Classic Hotel, which owns five-star Noormahal Palace Hotel in Karnal, said his hotel is sold out for all auspicious dates till March. The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said last month around 4.8 million weddings are estimated to be held nationwide in November and December. Nikhil Sharma, managing director and area senior vice president, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said nearly 100 weddings are already booked for November and around 250 events are planned between November and December. He said rates are up by 20-25 percent in locations such as Udaipur and Goa. “We anticipate high demand in locations that cater to luxury weddings, which could lead to sell-out situations. To meet the growing demand for destination weddings, we will be introducing a dedicated wedding concept across our hotels. This offering provides a seamless one-stop destination experience for couples, which sets us apart from the current market offerings,” he added. Kadambini Mittal, regional VP- Commercial, for India and SW Asia at Hyatt India Consultancy said the wedding business has grown by 25 percent in 2024. Bookings are up by nearly 22 perecnt compared from last year for Hilton, said Manish Tolani, VP and commercial director for South Asia at the chain. He said the chain is seeing ‘strong demand’ for general weekends, even outside the usual auspicious date calendar, and has dedicated single point contact wedding specialists for customers besides specialised chefs from Hilton properties worldwide for bespoke menus. For the auspicious dates in November and December, many of Wyndham’s properties in Lucknow, Gurugram, Udaipur, Kochi, Jaipur, and Mohali are either fully booked or seeing high occupancy, said Sakshi Sehdev Dogra, head of sales and marketing for Eurasia at Wyndham.“We are also experiencing significant demand for our international locations, particularly in Europe and the Middle East. Indian weddings have gained considerable popularity in some of these regions, and to meet this demand, our hotels have dedicated Indian chefs to provide an authentic cuisine for these celebrations,” she added.
