Early Life and Education

Gurprit Singh was born on September 27th, 1991, in Rourkela, Odisha, India. He grew up in a humble household located near Prince Tent House on Gurudwara Road. From a young age, Gurprit exhibited a passion for culinary arts, inspired by the rich and diverse food culture around him. He completed his 10th grade from the National Institute of Open Schooling in Noida, NCR, in 2008. Two years later, in 2010, he finished his +2 from Government Autonomous College in Rourkela, Odisha.

Professional Journey

Gurprit’s professional journey began in March 2013 when he joined Radhika Regency, a unit of Micro Hotels Pvt. Ltd., as a junior. This role marked the start of his culinary career, providing him with the foundational skills necessary for his future endeavors. He then moved on to Nottee Restro N Lounge, a unit of Reliable Hi-Tech Pvt. Ltd., where he worked as commi 2nd from November 2013 to June 2014.

Advancing in the Culinary World

In August 2014, Gurprit joined Al-malak Foods, known as The King of Multi-Cuisine Restaurant in Nagpur, Maharashtra, as a commissary. His time here was marked by significant learning and growth in multi-cuisine cooking techniques. By May 2016, he had joined Moon Link Hospitality Private Limited in Goa, operated by the Golden Tulip Hotel, where he initially served as a commi 1st before being promoted to Chef de Partie (Station Chef). His role at Moon Link Hospitality lasted until May 2017, during which he honed his skills in both Indian curry and continental cuisines.

From August 2017 to June 2018, Gurprit was part of the pre-opening team for the Ministry Of Bar Exchange, a unit of Sans Foods in Chandigarh. Here, he worked as a Chef de Partie, contributing significantly to the establishment’s successful launch. He then continued to build his career at The Ultimate Bar Exchange in Ludhiana, Punjab, from August 2018 to March 2019, also as a Chef de Partie.

Establishing as a Sous Chef

Gurprit’s expertise and leadership qualities earned him the role of Chef in Charge (Sous Chef) at The Beer Street Microbrewery in Ludhiana, Punjab, from April 2019 to March 2020. His leadership and culinary skills helped elevate the establishment’s reputation. Following this, he became a pre-opening team member at Blu Resorts & Hotels in Goa (Vagator) from August 2020 to June 2021, a role that highlighted his ability to adapt and lead in new environments.

His next role was with Hibis Hotels & Resorts in Goa (Morjim) from July 2021 to November 2021, where he continued to excel as a Chef in Charge (Sous Chef). Since December 2021, Gurprit has been serving as the Chef in Charge (Sous Chef) at Gian Sagar Medical College & Hospital in Rajpura, Punjab. This position has allowed him to bring his extensive culinary experience to a healthcare setting, ensuring nutritious and delicious meals for patients and staff.

Skills and Expertise

Gurprit Singh is not only proficient in the culinary arts but also possesses significant skills in management and operations within the hospitality industry. His computer skills, particularly in MS Office, complement his culinary expertise, allowing him to manage kitchen operations efficiently. He is fluent in Hindi, the national language, and English, enabling him to communicate effectively in diverse environments.

Personal Life

Gurprit Singh’s dedication to his profession is matched by his commitment to his roots. He resides at his family home in Rourkela, Odisha, when not on professional assignments. His journey from a small town in Odisha to various prestigious roles in the hospitality industry across India is a testament to his hard work, passion, and relentless pursuit of excellence.
