Accor has signed a new Novotel property in Vrindavan, marking a key milestone in the global hospitality group’s expansion across North India and reinforcing its presence in culturally significant and high-growth markets.

Scheduled to open in 2029, Novotel Vrindavan will be developed as a 150-key midscale hotel catering to a range of traveller segments including pilgrimage tourism, social celebrations and corporate events. The signing reflects Accor’s strategy of strengthening its footprint in emerging destination hubs that combine spiritual appeal with leisure and meetings demand. 0

The hotel is being developed by Girijas Retreat Private Limited and is planned as a new-build project spanning approximately 6,222 square metres with a total gross floor area of around 14,000 square metres. Facilities are expected to support year-round demand with a strong focus on meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). 1

Key planned amenities include a 1,000-square-metre ballroom, multiple meeting and event rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, speciality dining options, a lobby lounge and bar, fitness and spa facilities, and a swimming pool. The comprehensive mix of offerings aims to position Novotel Vrindavan as a full-service destination for both leisure and business travellers. 2

Ranju Alex, Chief Executive Officer of Accor South Asia, noted that Vrindavan’s cultural and spiritual significance, paired with its growing influx of visitors, makes it a strategic location for the midscale Novotel brand. The company’s leadership said the signing aligns with efforts to extend branded hospitality into regions experiencing increasing tourism, events and lifestyle demand. 3

Shobhit Kumar Arora, Director at Girijas Retreat Private Limited, added that the partnership with Accor aims to meet the rising need for professionally managed hospitality infrastructure as Vrindavan evolves beyond traditional pilgrimage travel into a broader tourism and event destination. 4

The signing of Novotel Vrindavan reinforces Accor’s broader growth strategy in India, where the group is actively expanding its portfolio across tier-II and cultural markets, and supports the ongoing diversification of India’s hospitality ecosystem. 5
