Dubai Metro extends its operating hours during Eid Al Adha, offering longer service to ensure smooth, convenient travel for residents and visitors throughout the holiday.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced extended operating hours for the Dubai Metro in celebration of the upcoming Eid Al Adha public holiday. This adjustment in service timings aims to accommodate the increased travel demand expected during this important festive period, ensuring that residents and visitors can move conveniently across the city.

Eid Al Adha, one of the most significant religious holidays observed by Muslims worldwide, begins this year with Arafat Day on Thursday, June 5. The festivities continue over the following days — Friday, June 6, Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8 — marking a time when families come together, and many participate in religious and social gatherings. Given the heightened movement around these days, the RTA has taken proactive measures to extend public transport availability to better serve the public.

For the duration of the holiday, Dubai Metro stations on both the red and green lines will operate with extended hours. Starting from Wednesday, June 4 through Saturday, June 7, metro services will run from 5 a.m. until 1 a.m. the following day. This extension is designed to provide passengers with more flexible travel options, accommodating late-night events and early morning commutes that are typical during such holidays.

Here is a detailed overview of the Dubai Metro schedule for the Eid Al Adha period:

  • Wednesday, June 4: Metro services from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Thursday, June 5 (Arafat Day): Operating hours adjusted to 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Friday, June 6: Metro services resume early from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Saturday, June 7: Continued operation from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.

In addition to the metro, the Dubai Tram will also see an extension in its operating hours during the holiday period. From Wednesday, June 4 through Saturday, June 7, the tram will run from 6 a.m. until 1 a.m. the next day. This slight extension allows greater connectivity along the tram routes, supporting passengers traveling between key locations including Dubai Marina and Al Sufouh.

Public buses and marine transport services are set to continue running throughout the Eid Al Adha celebrations without interruption. The RTA, however, advises all passengers to keep an eye on the S’hail app, its official smart travel assistant, for any last-minute changes or updates to schedules during the holiday period. This will help travelers plan their journeys more efficiently and avoid any unexpected disruptions.

The RTA has also issued updates regarding specific bus routes during Eid. Bus route E100, which typically departs from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, will not operate from Wednesday, June 4 to Sunday, June 8. Passengers who normally use this service are encouraged to switch to bus route E101, which runs from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi, ensuring they still have access to essential intercity travel during the holiday.

Meanwhile, bus route E102 will be adjusted to provide direct service from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. This route will bypass the usual stops at Ibn Battuta Bus Station and Musaffah, facilitating a more streamlined journey for travelers heading to the airport during this busy time.

Regarding customer service availability, all standard RTA Customer Happiness Centres will be closed throughout the Eid Al Adha holiday to observe the festivities. However, the Smart Customer Happiness Centres, which offer automated and self-service support, will remain fully operational 24/7 at several locations including Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, and the RTA Head Office. This ensures that passengers still have access to essential services and assistance whenever needed during the holiday period.

The RTA’s comprehensive approach to extending and adjusting transport services during Eid Al Adha reflects its ongoing commitment to providing efficient, reliable, and convenient mobility solutions for Dubai’s residents and visitors. By enhancing metro, tram, bus, and marine transport schedules, the authority aims to support the city’s dynamic lifestyle while respecting the cultural significance of this important holiday.

Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead, make use of the updated public transport services, and stay informed through official RTA channels and the S’hail app to enjoy a smooth and hassle-free travel experience during the Eid Al Adha celebrations.
