The Westin Resort & Spa Himalayas has announced the appointment of Suman Kundu as Rooms Division Manager, marking another strategic leadership addition to its growing team. With a decade of experience across India’s leading luxury hotel brands, Kundu brings deep expertise in guest service excellence, team leadership, and operational strategy to his new role.
A Journey of Dedication and Distinction
Kundu began his career in 2015 at ITC Sonar, where he honed his skills in guest engagement and refined service delivery. His journey continued with Taj Hotels, where he served as Concierge Executive and was honored with the MD’s Club Award for achieving outstanding guest satisfaction scores.
At The St. Regis Mumbai, Kundu’s performance and leadership stood out as he led initiatives in cross-selling and guest satisfaction, earning the title of “Manager of the Year” among 1,500 employees — a testament to his commitment to excellence and innovation in service.
Leading with Vision and Empathy
In subsequent leadership roles at JW Marriott Kolkata and The Westin Pune, Kundu demonstrated exceptional strategic and operational acumen. Under his direction, the Rooms Division team at The Westin Pune achieved recognition among APEC’s Top Five Hotels for performance and service quality.
At The Westin Resort & Spa Himalayas, Kundu will oversee all aspects of the Rooms Division, including front office, housekeeping, and guest relations, with a focus on optimizing guest satisfaction, revenue performance, and operational efficiency. His goal is to lead the team toward new benchmarks of success while upholding Marriott’s promise of excellence and well-being.
