Air Canada has placed a major order for 88 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, significantly strengthening its long-haul fleet expansion plans.
The A350-1000 is Airbus’ largest widebody aircraft in the A350 family and is designed for high-capacity, long-distance routes. Known for improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and enhanced passenger comfort, the aircraft is expected to play a central role in Air Canada’s future international operations.
The large-scale order reflects the airline’s confidence in long-term global travel demand and its strategy to modernise and streamline its widebody fleet. New-generation aircraft such as the A350-1000 offer lower operating costs and improved environmental performance compared to older models.
Industry observers view the order as one of the most significant fleet commitments by a North American carrier in recent years, reinforcing Air Canada’s position in the competitive transatlantic and transpacific markets.
