Argentum Airways, a newly established U.S. regional airline brand, has launched its first scheduled commercial operations, marking a notable addition to aviation services in Alaska.

The airline began regular flights on January 20, 2026, with its first revenue service operating between Anchorage (ANC) and Kenai (ENA). The launch comes amid efforts to improve air connectivity across the vast, sparsely populated state, where reliable air service is a crucial lifeline for residents and businesses.

Argentum Airways operates under the broader Alasan aviation family connected to **Aleutian Airways**, a regional carrier based in Anchorage that was founded to help fill gaps in local service following the exit of previous operators such as Ravn Alaska. The new airline brand is part of a strategic plan to expand scheduled service throughout the state and beyond.

The carrier’s initial operations utilise modern **ATR‑series turboprop aircraft**, well‑suited to short‑haul, frequent‑turnaround flights that connect remote communities across challenging terrain and weather conditions. Argentum aims to offer safe, dependable, and high‑frequency services that restore and enhance intra‑state aviation links.

Argentum’s launch reflects broader trends in regional U.S. aviation, where operators are stepping in to fill critical local service gaps following the closure or restructuring of legacy carriers. By focusing on high‑need areas and utilising efficient aircraft, the airline hopes to build strong community demand and sustainable operations.

Looking forward, Argentum Airways plans to expand its network across Alaska and potentially link with additional partners to improve connectivity for residents, industries and visitors within one of the country’s most challenging environments for aviation.
