Los Cabos, Mexico – October 2025Hilton proudly announces the appointment of Juan Gonzalez Izquierdo as General Manager of the award-winning Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal. With over 20 years of luxury hospitality experience, Izquierdo brings a wealth of expertise in hotel operations, guest experience, and property transformation to the prestigious resort.

A Career Built on Excellence

Izquierdo’s career in luxury hospitality spans major global markets including the United States, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Most recently, he served as General Manager at Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead, where he led the property to achieve No. 1 guest satisfaction in North America and maintained a Forbes Four-Star rating for three consecutive years. During his tenure, he successfully oversaw a multi-year renovation of public and private spaces, elevating the hotel’s market positioning and guest experience.

Previously, as Hotel Manager at Conrad New York Downtown, Izquierdo helped the property achieve the top guest satisfaction ranking among luxury hotels in North America, earned its first Connie Award, and received Forbes Four-Star recognition. His earlier leadership roles as Director of Operations at luxury hotels in New York, Barcelona, and London further cemented his reputation for operational excellence.

Izquierdo began his career as a busboy in London, exemplifying a career-long dedication to hospitality and professional growth.

In his new role, Izquierdo will oversee all aspects of hotel operations, focusing on maintaining exceptional service standards, fostering a culture of accountability, and driving the resort’s continued success following its multi-year property-wide transformation.

Born in Malaga, Spain, Izquierdo holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from Endicott College, Massachusetts, and a diploma in hotel management from Les Roches Swiss Hotel Management School, Marbella, Spain. Fluent in Spanish and English, he is also passionate about mentoring and developing talent, considering the professional growth of his team as one of his greatest achievements.

Beyond Hospitality

Outside of work, Izquierdo is a dedicated Real Madrid fan and enjoys soccer and pickleball with his family, including his four children and wife.
