Today, global hospitality leader Hilton (NYSE: HLT) announces the appointment of Kathy Heneghan as general manager of the 800-room Signia by Hilton Indianapolis located in downtown Indianapolis. Expected to open in late 2026, the new-build hotel will anchor the expanded Indiana Convention Center, solidifying its position as a leading destination for meetings and events in the Midwest. In her new role, Heneghan will both lead the pre-opening team and oversee the operations for Signia by Hilton’s first Indiana hotel, once open.
A hospitality industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience with Hilton properties in Chicago, Heneghan most recently served as general manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile. Prior to that role, she held the position of hotel manager at the 1,544-room Hilton Chicago. Throughout her career, she’s held various leadership roles across catering and events and food and beverage at both Hilton Chicago and Palmer House, a Hilton Hotel.
Heneghan’s accomplishments extend beyond her career at Hilton as she maintains an active role within her community. During her time in Chicago, she was Chairperson of the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association in 2024 and was involved with the Magnificent Mile Association and Choose Chicago Convention Alliance as part of their general manager councils.
Owned by the City of Indianapolis with operations led by the Capital Improvement Board of Managers of Marion County, a municipal corporation of Marion County, Indiana and managed by Hilton, the hotel will be the city’s tallest hotel. The property will feature 90,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, including a 50,000-square-foot ballroom and will provide direct access to the convention center and Lucas Oil Stadium via a skywalk over Capitol Avenue. Guests can expect seven culinary concepts including an upscale fine-dining restaurant, a library, rooftop sky bar and pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, wellness-focused guest rooms, and Club Signia, a premium offering for guests that elevates the entire stay.
