Milestone event for unique atoll-island

Dhiraagu Fuvahmulah Run 2025 has successfully concluded in Fuvahmulah City, marking the first time an edition of the Maldives’ largest and most anticipated running event Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR), was held in the atolls and in this unique destination.
Held on Friday, 2 May 2025, the event was organised in collaboration with Fuvahmulah City Council, the Women’s Development Committee of Fuvahmulah, and the Athletics Association of Maldives. The race aimed to position Fuvahmulah as a promising new running destination while building a vibrant and inclusive running culture across the country.
A total of 1112 participants took part in this historic run, which featured 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon categories.
Similar to DMRR, Dhiraagu Fuvahmulah Run awarded attractive cash prizes to winners across various categories, with a total prize pool of MVR 232,000 distributed among the top finishers.

The Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race remains the first and only international run in the Maldives, officially listed in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running Calendar and certified by World Athletics.
Expanding the race to Fuvahmulah demonstrates Dhiraagu’s ongoing commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, supporting local tourism, and showcasing the natural beauty and potential of communities across the Maldives.
