Air Congo has secured a Boeing 737-800 through a wet lease agreement with Ethiopian Airlines to support its operational needs.

Under a wet lease arrangement, the aircraft is provided along with crew, maintenance, and insurance, allowing the airline to quickly expand capacity without committing to a long-term fleet purchase. The move is expected to strengthen Air Congo’s network and improve service reliability.

The Boeing 737-800 is widely used for short- and medium-haul routes and offers operational flexibility for regional markets. By partnering with Ethiopian Airlines, Air Congo benefits from the experience and technical support of one of Africa’s largest carriers.

Wet leasing remains a common strategy among airlines seeking to manage demand fluctuations or bridge capacity gaps. The agreement highlights growing cooperation within Africa’s aviation sector as carriers work to expand connectivity across the continent.
