As the crescent moon marked the arrival of Eid al-Fitr on Sunday, 30th March, the castaway island resort of RAAYA by Atmosphere curated a special celebration for a group of visiting journalists from the United Kingdom. The intimate and exclusive dinner took place at Seb’s Farm, hosted by the resort’s General Manager, Maurice Van Den Bosch, Euan Blake, Vice President of Communications at Atmosphere Core, and Seema Misra, Assistant Director of Communications.
Launched earlier this year, Seb’s Farm offers a unique, sustainable harvest-to-plate dining experience with its signature menu featuring a blend of Maldivian delicacies and international cuisine. Every dish is prepared using ingredients sourced directly from the resort’s organic farm and local fishermen.
On the day of Eid, all the journalists gathered at Seb’s Farm in the morning for a tour and to pick fresh herbs and vegetables to be used in their evening feast. Following a day in paradise, the ladies gathered for a grand Eid dinner in a charming gazebo at the heart of the farm. A rustic wooden table, adorned with fresh blooms, the soothing melody of wind chimes, and the inviting aroma of fragrant appetisers, set the scene for a memorable celebration. Adding to the cultural immersion, the journalists donned traditional black-and-white striped Maldivian sarongs, for the evening.
The media group included Alice Emily Barnes-Brown from Travel Weekly, Natasha Tomalin-Hall from Mail Online, Lynne Mole from loveEXPLORING.com, Natasha Heard from Luxury Lifestyle Magazine, and Tilly Everard from Rooster PR. During their visit, they explored both OBLU NATURE Helengeli by SENTIDO and RAAYA by Atmosphere, experiencing the essence of Maldivian hospitality.
Reflecting on the celebration, Tilly Everard shared, “Our time at RAAYA by Atmosphere was truly unforgettable. From an idyllic sunset fishing trip and indulgent spa treatments at ELE|NA Ayur spa, to unleashing our creativity with Dhoni boat painting and unwinding with sunrise yoga, every experience was exceptional. The highlight was the Eid dinner itself—savouring the freshest Maldivian flavours under a starlit sky, surrounded by the warmest hospitality. It was a magical way to celebrate the occasion, and the heartfelt touches, such as the handwritten welcome notes and invites in our villas, made us feel so at home.”
A picturesque 45-minute seaplane journey from Velana International Airport, RAAYA by Atmosphere is a five-star resort within the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts brand, with 167 beach and overwater villas and 6 diverse dining options blending local traditions with global flavours.
