Centre Notifies Appointment of Advocate as Judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court
The Centre has notified the appointment of an advocate as a Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, strengthening the judicial bench of the state.

The Central Government has notified the appointment of an advocate as a Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, further augmenting the strength of the state’s judiciary. The appointment follows the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium and has been cleared by the President of India.
The Central Government on Tuesday (February 10) notified the appointment of advocate Shri Balaji Medamalli judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court. The newly appointed judge brings years of experience from the Bar, having handled a wide range of matters across constitutional, civil, and criminal jurisdictions.
The elevation is part of the ongoing process to fill vacancies and ensure the smooth functioning of High Courts across the country. Judicial appointments to High Courts are made under Article 217 of the Constitution of India.
The process involves recommendations by the Supreme Court Collegium, followed by approval from the Central Government and formal notification by the Ministry of Law and Justice. With this appointment, the Andhra Pradesh High Court is expected to see improved case disposal rates and enhanced judicial efficiency. The move underscores the Centre’s continued focus on strengthening the judiciary and addressing pendency issues in courts nationwide.
