Corinthia Hotels Appoints New GM for Gewan Island Qatar

Corinthia Hotels has named Mohammed Wazir as General Manager of Corinthia Gewan Island Qatar, the brand’s first hotel in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, set to open in early 2027.

Wazir returns to Corinthia Hotels after holding senior operational roles with brands including Anantara and Habitas. His portfolio includes leadership positions at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, and Our Habitas Ras Abrouq, among others. 

Past Leadership and Brand Contributions

Earlier in his career, Wazir was part of the pre‑opening and management teams at several key properties, such as Corinthia London, Corinthia Prague, Corinthia St Petersburg, Corinthia St George’s Bay Malta and Corinthia Tripoli, demonstrating deep brand experience and operational expertise.
