NEW DELHI, May 27, 2026: Indian design house UCUORO has announced the launch of its first PET Furniture Collection, arriving this summer, a 10-piece range spanning feeding, sleep, play and storage designed after a year-long research and development process involving veterinarians, pet behaviourists and interior designers.

The collection marks UCUORO's entry into the premium pet products market and applies the same conscious design philosophy, material quality and aesthetic standards the brand uses in its core luxury furniture range to a segment that Founder and Creative Director Unnati Varma said has been underserved by design thinking.

The problem the collection addresses

"Pets are family, but most pet furniture still look like an afterthought," Varma said. "We asked: what if a pet bed had the same material integrity as our lounge furniture? This collection is our answer, functional, beautiful and built to last."

The statement reflects a gap that has been visible in India's pet products market as pet ownership among urban, design-conscious consumers has grown: most pet furniture is mass-produced and built to be functional rather than designed to integrate into contemporary home interiors. UCUORO is positioning its PET collection at the intersection of those two requirements — pieces that work for the animal and belong in the home.

What the collection includes

The 10 designs cover the four core categories of pet lifestyle, feeding, sleep, play and storage. The sleep and lounging pieces include a lounger engineered with specific surface friction to provide tactile comfort for the pet, a sofa designed to encourage exploratory behaviour and a rocking piece suited to active and playful animals. A stool that incorporates a hidden enclosure for pets who prefer sheltered rest adds a concealment function without sacrificing the furniture's exterior design.

UCUORO's R&D team studied pet behaviour over the course of the development year to ensure that the ergonomic choices in each piece, material texture, surface angle, structural form and spatial proportion, respond to how animals actually use furniture, rather than how humans assume they use it. The interior designers on the team focused on ensuring that each piece reads as a designed object within a contemporary home rather than an accessory to be hidden from sight.

Year-long R&D with veterinarians and pet behaviourists

The involvement of veterinarians and pet behaviourists in the development process distinguishes the UCUORO PET Collection from most luxury pet furniture on the market in India, which is typically designed from an aesthetic perspective without systematic input from animal health and welfare professionals.

That professional involvement is both a product integrity measure and a brand positioning signal, it allows UCUORO to claim that its pet furniture is designed to meet the physical and behavioural needs of animals as well as the aesthetic requirements of their owners. The year-long R&D timeline also signals a production approach more consistent with UCUORO's luxury furniture ethos than the compressed development cycles typical of the mass pet products market.

India's premium pet products market

India's pet market has seen sustained growth in the premium and lifestyle segment as urban pet ownership rises and a growing segment of pet owners treats animals as full members of the household, a consumer shift that has driven demand for products meeting design, quality and wellness standards previously reserved for human-use home goods.

UCUORO's entry into the category positions the brand alongside international luxury pet furniture labels at a price and design tier that has had limited domestic competition until now. No pricing information for the PET Collection was disclosed at the time of the launch announcement.
