Chennai, July 2025 – Hyatt Regency Chennai is proud to welcome Pankaj Behl as the newly appointed Director of Rooms. With over 14 years of leadership experience in rooms division across globally reputed brands like Hyatt, Marriott, IHG, Starwood, and Taj, Pankaj brings a deep understanding of operational excellence, service innovation, and guest experience transformation.
A Career of Operational Excellence and Guest-Centric Leadership
Before joining Hyatt Regency Chennai, Pankaj served as Executive Housekeeper at Andaz Delhi and Hyatt Delhi Residences, where he led operations for 401 guest rooms and luxury serviced residences. Under his leadership, the property achieved top-tier performance scores, including a 98% Room Cleaning YTD Score and notable Green Zone Brand Audit results. He also implemented sustainable refurbishment initiatives and led the property to win the Department of the Year and Leader of the Year awards in 2022.
In addition to his on-site leadership, Pankaj serves as Area Guest Experience Specialist – West Region for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, where he supports 11 Hyatt hotels in enhancing CES and NPS scores, standardizing guest programs, and strengthening operational quality through cross-functional coaching and audits.
Deep Expertise in Hospitality Operations
Pankaj’s operational journey includes senior roles at The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa, Crowne Plaza Today Gurugram, and earlier tenures with JW Marriott, The Leela, and Taj Bengal. Across these roles, he has consistently driven results through innovative SOP development, team training, asset lifecycle management, and refurbishment project execution.
He is also highly proficient in systems like Opera, HotSOS, GXP, and Birchstreet, allowing him to streamline backend processes and boost guest satisfaction metrics.
Vision at Hyatt Regency Chennai
In his new role, Pankaj will lead all aspects of rooms division operations, including front office, housekeeping, guest services, and residences. His focus will be on driving service excellence, optimizing workflows, and building a culture rooted in care, accountability, and elevated guest experiences.
