voco Bangkok Surawong Debuts as Thailand’s First voco Hotel

IHG Hotels & Resorts has officially opened voco Bangkok Surawong, marking the first entry of the voco brand into Thailand’s dynamic hospitality scene. The new property reflects the brand’s signature balance of relaxed comfort and upscale service.

Design Inspired by Heritage and Modernity

The hotel is situated along Surawong Road in central Bangkok, close to the vibrant Silom, Sathorn and Siam districts. It was developed by transforming the former Tawana Hotel, with architecture by Thai firm A49 that blends Brutalist modernism with fresh, open design elements, and interiors by P49 Deesign featuring mid‑century charm and local artistic touches.

Guest Experience and Sustainability

voco Bangkok Surawong offers 244 thoughtfully designed guestrooms and suites that combine comfort, sustainability and playful style. True to voco’s ethos, the hotel emphasizes sustainability — with recycled materials in bedding and organic bath amenities — and welcomes guests with locally inspired touches like a mango sticky rice cookie at check‑in.

Dining and Amenities

The property features multiple dining options, including Tasca Sabio, a Spanish‑inspired restaurant, and Deckles Smokehouse, known for slow‑smoked dishes and craft cocktails. Additional facilities include a lap pool, a 24‑hour fitness centre, an onsen spa, event spaces and flexible meeting rooms.

Strategic Opening for IHG

This opening is part of the rapid expansion of voco hotels — one of IHG’s fastest‑growing premium brands, with numerous properties globally — and underscores Bangkok’s continued appeal as a major hospitality hub in Southeast Asia.
