Nova Maldives promotes Mohamed Shaamy Hassan as Resort Manager

Nova Maldives has announced the promotion of Mohamed Shaamy Hassan to the position of Resort Manager, effective January 2025. This appointment marks a significant milestone in Shaamy’s long and distinguished career in the hospitality industry, where his dedication and leadership have been instrumental in the growth and success of several high-end resorts.
Shaamy’s professional journey spans over two decades, beginning in 1999, with his extensive experience in the hospitality sector making him a respected leader in the industry. Prior to his new role at Nova Maldives, Shaamy served as the Executive Assistant Manager at Nova Maldives from December 2023 to January 2025. His leadership during this time helped shape the resort’s operational strategies and contributed to its consistent success.
Before joining Nova Maldives, Shaamy’s career took him to Kandima Maldives, where he made significant strides from January 2020 to November 2023. As the Room Division Manager, Shaamy was responsible for overseeing the resort’s accommodation operations, where his efforts contributed to the overall guest experience. He also served as Front Office Manager from December 2016 to December 2019, during which he demonstrated exceptional skills in guest services and team management.
Shaamy’s career also includes leadership roles at Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa, where he was Front Office Manager from November 2015 to December 2016, and Assistant Front Office Manager from February 2015 to October 2015. His journey in front office roles began at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, where he held the position of Front Office Assistant Manager from January 2013 to January 2015.
Throughout his tenure at each of these prestigious resorts, Shaamy’s leadership, commitment to excellence, and passion for innovation were evident. His approach has always been people-centric, focusing on delivering exceptional guest experiences and nurturing a collaborative, thriving team environment. These qualities have helped foster the strong culture of innovation, community, and soulfulness that Nova Maldives is known for.
In his new role as Resort Manager at Nova Maldives, Shaamy will continue to inspire his team and drive the resort’s success, building on the foundations of excellence he has already established.
