Sun Siyam Resorts promotes Ahmed Naufal to Group Director of Business Development

Sun Siyam Resorts has announced the promotion of Ahmed Naufal to Group Director of Business Development, effective immediately.

Naufal steps into this expanded position after his outstanding performance as the Group Director of Sales & Marketing. In his expanded role, Naufal will leverage his extensive experience to lead key initiatives that foster long-term growth and further solidify Sun Siyam Resorts’ position in the market. He will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative strategies, drive operational efficiencies, and support the company’s efforts to expand into new markets, all while enhancing the brand’s presence across its luxury properties in the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Naufal joined Sun Siyam Resorts in 2021 as Director of Sales & Marketing at Sun Siyam Olhuveli, where he quickly demonstrated his ability to drive business success. His efforts led to his promotion to Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing in 2023, where he was responsible for managing sales activities across several key resorts, before taking on the Group Director of Sales & Marketing role in early 2024 for Sun Siyam Resorts six properties in the Maldives & Sri Lanka. His extensive career, spanning 18 years, includes leadership roles at renowned resorts such as One&Only Kanuhura, Baros Maldives, and Raffles Maldives Meradhoo.

A seasoned hospitality professional, Naufal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Tourism Management from the Maldives National University, and has further sharpened his skills with courses in Business Strategy and Revenue Management from Cornell University.
