Malaysia Secures ICAO Council Seat for 2025–2028 Term

Kuala Lumpur, October 2025 – Malaysia has been re-elected to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council as a Part III member for the 2025–2028 term. The election took place on 30 September 2025 at the 42nd Session of the ICAO General Assembly in Montreal, Canada, where Malaysia secured 154 votes, placing seventh out of 14 contested seats.

This marks Malaysia’s seventh consecutive term on the ICAO Council since 2007 and represents a significant increase in international support compared to 136 votes in 2022, when Malaysia ranked 13th.
