Rosewood Announces First Urban Hotel in Tokyo
Rosewood Hotels announces Rosewood Tokyo in Roppongi, marking the brand’s first urban hotel development in Japan.

TOKYO, Japan — Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has officially announced the development of Rosewood Tokyo, the brand’s first urban hotel in Japan, located within the large-scale Roppongi 5-Chome redevelopment project in central Tokyo.
The project is being developed in partnership with Mori Building Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Realty & Development Co., Ltd., two major players in Japan’s real estate and urban development sector.
Rosewood Expands Luxury Hospitality Presence in Japan
Rosewood Tokyo marks a major step in the brand’s expansion strategy across Asia-Pacific and follows the planned opening of Rosewood Miyakojima in 2025.
The new property will be integrated into a mixed-use development combining hospitality, luxury residences, retail outlets, and office spaces in one of Tokyo’s most important urban districts.
Located directly above Roppongi Subway Station, the hotel will provide strong connectivity to Tokyo’s business, entertainment, and cultural districts.
Luxury Hotel Planned for Central Tokyo
Rosewood Tokyo is expected to feature approximately 200 guestrooms and suites, including large multi-bedroom accommodations designed for luxury travelers, families, and long-stay guests.
The property will include multiple dining and bar concepts inspired by Tokyo’s globally recognized culinary culture.
Additional facilities will include the Rosewood Manor Club, wellness and fitness amenities under the Asaya wellbeing concept, an indoor swimming pool, yoga spaces, and luxury spa facilities.
The hotel will also offer event infrastructure including a grand ballroom and meeting venues designed for international business gatherings, cultural events, and private celebrations.
Tokyo Continues Attracting Global Luxury Hospitality Investment
Industry analysts say Tokyo remains one of Asia’s most competitive luxury hospitality markets, with global hotel brands continuing to expand across the city ahead of rising international tourism demand.
The Roppongi district continues evolving as a premium destination for luxury hospitality, mixed-use development, business activity, and international tourism.
Rosewood’s expansion pipeline also includes future openings in Seoul, Shenzhen, the Maldives, Napa Valley, and Rome as the luxury hospitality group strengthens its global presence.
