The Royal Australian Air Force has officially welcomed its first MC‑55A Peregrine aircraft, strengthening Australia’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities as part of its defence modernisation program.

The aircraft will support electronic intelligence collection, situational awareness and information‑sharing across air, land and maritime operations. It is designed to operate alongside allied forces and enhance joint mission capability.

RAAF officials said the MC‑55A Peregrine provides advanced intelligence gathering and real‑time data distribution to support strategic and operational decision‑making. The platform represents a significant upgrade to Australia’s airborne intelligence capacity.

The induction forms part of a broader effort to modernise the air force fleet and improve interoperability with regional and international partners. Additional MC‑55A aircraft are expected to enter service in the coming years.
