Summit Hotels & Resorts Enters Luxury Market with 'The Summit' in Siliguri, Launching May 2027

Siliguri, India – September 27, 2025:
In a bold move that signals a new era for Eastern India’s hospitality landscape, Summit Hotels & Resorts has officially announced its entry into the luxury segment with the launch of The Summit, a landmark property scheduled to open in May 2027 in Siliguri.

Known for its acclaimed portfolio of mountain resorts, this marks Summit’s first foray into the upscale urban hospitality space—and it comes with ambition, scale, and vision.

Architectural Brilliance with Cultural Roots

Designed by Vivek Singh Rathore, Partner at Salient and a Forbes India “Bold Club” honoree, The Summit will blend global luxury design with the cultural and natural heritage of Eastern India. In addition to being a luxury destination, the property will also serve as the corporate headquarters of Summit Hotels & Resorts.

The architectural design aims to create a city landmark that reflects both modern sophistication and a sense of place, rooted in regional aesthetics.

Setting a New Standard for Tier-2 Hospitality

The Summit is poised to transform Siliguri into a major hub for luxury weddings, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and high-end leisure travel.

Key highlights include:

  • Eastern India’s largest banquet facility, accommodating up to 2,000 guests

  • Infrastructure to manage 10 simultaneous events

  • A full-service wedding ecosystem with indoor/outdoor venues, large-capacity accommodation, and in-house planning services

  • Premium conference facilities tailored to Siliguri’s growing corporate sector

With a rising demand in the ₹1 crore-plus wedding segment from Bihar and Bengal, the property will tap into a lucrative and under-served market.

A Lifestyle and Wellness Destination

More than just a hotel, The Summit aims to be a lifestyle destination for guests and locals alike.

Key offerings include:

  • Multi-cuisine restaurants featuring Himalayan specialties, global fare, and rooftop dining

  • A wellness sanctuary offering traditional Himalayan therapies and modern beauty treatments

  • A recreational complex featuring pickleball, squash, indoor gaming zones, and a state-of-the-art gym

  • Siliguri’s first 40-foot-high nightclub, with panoramic views, live entertainment, and world-class mixology

This diverse mix of dining, wellness, entertainment, and sports is designed to deliver a holistic luxury experience previously unavailable in the region.

Sustainability at the Core

In line with Summit’s commitment to responsible tourism, the project will target green building certifications, integrate water conservation systems, and use renewable energy solutions.

The resort is expected to create over 300 local jobs, and will partner with regional artisans, designers, and suppliers to weave authenticity into every aspect of the guest journey.

Vision for the Region

Speaking on the announcement, Sumit Mitruka, CEO & Founder of Summit Hotels & Resorts, shared:

“This resort is our love letter to Siliguri and the entire region. For 15 years, we’ve welcomed guests to our mountain properties. Now, we’re bringing that same warmth and world-class hospitality to the city that’s been our home.

The Summit is our bold step into the luxury market, a destination that will set new benchmarks for Eastern India and put Siliguri firmly on the national hospitality map.”
