The United States Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, has congratulated Air India on its order for 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, underlining the growing strategic and commercial ties between India and the United States in the aviation sector. The message comes as Air India accelerates its fleet modernisation programme to support rapid network expansion and rising passenger demand.
The Boeing 737 MAX order forms part of Air India’s broader transformation under the Tata Group, which has committed to renewing the airline’s fleet with next‑generation, fuel‑efficient aircraft. The narrowbody jets are expected to play a key role in strengthening domestic and short‑haul international connectivity, particularly on high‑density routes across South Asia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
