Koen Masschelein has been appointed General Manager at Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection in Pérez Zeledón

Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection, the brand's picturesque Costa Rica property focused on holistic living with immersive adventures and wellness experiences, has appointed Koen Masschelein as General Manager. In this role, he will oversee all operations at the award-winning resort, ensuring it maintains the high standards of luxury and service that it is renowned for. Koen joined the brand in 2022 as Resort Manager at Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection, and was quickly promoted to Director of Operations at Bishop's Lodge, Auberge Resorts Collection in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Koen is returning to Hacienda AltaGracia ready to lead with his exceptional dedication and passion.

Originally from Roeselare, Belgium, Koen's notable career includes roles at Four Seasons George V in Paris and as a Sommelier with Chef Daniel Boulud in New York City and Beijing. Notably, his time in Beijing earned him recognition as one of the 50 most influential figures in wine in China. Koen further advanced his career through the Food & Beverage discipline with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, ultimately leading to his position as Director of Food & Beverage at several Four Seasons properties worldwide before joining Auberge Resorts Collection.

Beyond his professional achievements, Koen is an avid adventurer. He enjoys running marathons, hiking, biking, scuba diving and exploring new culinary delights. A true global citizen, Koen has lived in 11 countries and visited over 110, bringing a rich cultural perspective to his role at Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection.
