Washington DC – October 2025 – Salamander Collection proudly announces the appointment of Bertrand Mangeot as the new Managing Director of Salamander Washington DC, the recently revitalized 373-room hotel on the city’s southwest waterfront.
With over two decades of hospitality experience across three countries and leading global brands, Mangeot brings a strong track record in luxury guest service, strategic planning, and business growth. Prior to joining Salamander, he served as General Manager at InterContinental San Diego, and spent more than 21 years with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, leading AAA Four Diamond properties in New York, Cleveland, Toronto, Atlanta, and San Diego. Mangeot has also held leadership positions at the Kimpton Sylvan Hotel in Atlanta and the Kimpton Saint George in Toronto, demonstrating expertise in hotel repositioning and delivering consistent financial performance.
Global Expertise and Career Journey
Born and raised in France, Bertrand Mangeot began his career with Karibea Hotels in Martinique, supporting the finance function. He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance and Management from Dijon Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Notre-Dame Du Grandchamp in Versailles. He also holds qualifications in Food Service Management and Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management.
Mangeot has relocated to the DC area with his wife Jessica and their son Antoine. Outside of work, the family enjoys nature, traveling, dining experiences, and following international rugby.
