At Vivanta Goa, Panaji, we continue to strengthen our commitment to responsible hospitality by commissioning our in-house water bottling plant, allowing us to completely eliminate single-use plastic bottles across the hotel.
As a leading city hotel in Goa, we operate at the heart of the state’s business, social and MICE ecosystem. With a high-volume banquet and events portfolio, our operations extend well beyond accommodation. This scale brings with it a responsibility to adopt practices that create meaningful environmental impact. The in-house bottling plant enables us to serve purified drinking water in reusable glass bottles across guest rooms, restaurants, banquet venues and back-of-house areas, while adhering to stringent quality, safety and hygiene standards.
This initiative is aligned with Paathya, IHCL’s ESG+ framework, which defines our pathway towards environmental stewardship, social responsibility and strong governance. By investing in sustainable infrastructure, we are addressing plastic waste at its source without compromising on guest comfort, operational efficiency or service excellence. Each bottle undergoes a controlled cleaning, sterilisation and refilling process, ensuring consistency, safety and reliability at every touchpoint.
Speaking on this milestone, Mr. Ranjit Phillipose, Senior Vice President – Operations, IHCL Goa, says, “At IHCL, sustainability is not an add-on; it is integral to the way we operate and grow. The commissioning of the in-house water bottling plant at Vivanta Goa, Panaji is a meaningful step under Paathya, our ESG+ framework. As a leading city hotel with a strong non-resident footprint, this initiative allows us to make a tangible reduction in single-use plastic while continuing to deliver on the expectations of our guests and partners. I would also like to acknowledge the owners of Vivanta Goa, Panaji for their continued support and strong alignment with Paathya, which has been instrumental in bringing this sustainability initiative to life."
For our guests, this transition reflects a thoughtful approach to hospitality balancing comfort, convenience and care for the environment. For our corporate clients and event planners, it reinforces our commitment to supporting responsible, sustainability-led events that align with evolving global expectations.
Through initiatives such as this, we continue to demonstrate that urban hospitality can be both high-performing and environmentally conscious. At Vivanta Goa, Panaji, we remain focused on embedding sustainability into everyday operations, creating long-term value for our guests, our partners and the communities we serve.
