Dhiraagu celebrates team excellence at annual staff awards

Dhiraagu has hosted their annual awards ceremony to recognize the contributions of the company’s long-serving staff and outstanding achievers.

This event, held annually to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of staff and their contributions to the company, was held at Crossroads Maldives last night. This year’s event was attended by the CEO & MD of Dhiraagu Ismail Rasheed along with members of Dhiraagu’s leadership and staff.

At this year’s annual awards, total 96 staff were honored for their outstanding contributions to the company. 53 long-serving staff, who have been with the company for the last 10, 15, and 25 years, were recognized for their continued contributions over the years. Awards were also presented to 42 staff who have made notable strides in the company’s success – 14 Divisional Merit Awards, 11 Special Merit Awards, 15 Innovation Awards and 2 Outstanding Leaders Awards.

The most prestigious recognition of the night, the Chairperson’s Award, was awarded to Mohamed Shamoon Shafeeg, Transport Network. Shamoon is a key member of the Transport Networks team, who made exceptional contributions in 2024, who played a pivotal role in advancing Dhiraagu’s infrastructure and service delivery. His key achievements included leading the Domestic Submarine Cable System project to deploy five new submarine cable links and contributing to major infrastructure projects such as the Maldives Sri Lanka Cable System upgrades, SMW6 land route, and beach manhole construction.

Dhiraagu continues to empower their staff and celebrate their efforts to enriching the digital experience of people living in the Maldives and enable them to ‘take on tomorrow.’
