Sun Siyam Iru Veli appoints Shama Rashid as Assistant Public Relations & Communications Manager

Sun Siyam Iru Veli has announced the appointment of Shama Rashid as the new Assistant Public Relations & Communications Manager. A passionate and creative professional, Shama brings extensive experience in public relations, media engagement, and project management to the resort. In her new role, she will be instrumental in developing and executing impactful communication strategies, with a strong focus on storytelling and media relations. She will assist in elevating the resort’s global profile by crafting engaging narratives and fostering strong connections with both local and international media, thereby enhancing Sun Siyam Iru Veli’s overall visibility and engagement.

Shama’s career began as a PR and Media Officer at the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, where she developed skills in strategic communication and stakeholder engagement. She later transitioned to the tourism sector, working with Pulse Hotels & Resorts as a Marketing and Communication Executive, and subsequently with Villa Group, before joining Sun Siyam Iru Veli. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Communication and possesses a natural talent for creating compelling narratives that resonate with audiences both locally and globally.

As a Maldivian national, Shama’s deep-rooted passion for Maldivian culture and heritage aligns seamlessly with Sun Siyam Iru Veli’s commitment to showcasing the unique offerings of the Maldives.
