Paras Desai Elected Chairman of FAITTA; Vidisha Desai Joins Executive Committee

Ahmedabad, October 3, 2025 — Paras Desai, Executive Director of Wagh Bakri Tea Group, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Federation of All India Tea Traders’ Association (FAITTA) — the apex national body representing tea traders across India. His election marks a significant leadership transition in the Indian tea industry at a time of evolving market dynamics and increased focus on innovation and sustainability.

In addition, Vidisha Desai, Director at Wagh Bakri Tea Group, has been inducted into the Executive Committee of FAITTA, signaling greater involvement of next-generation leadership in shaping the future of India’s tea trade.

A Legacy of Leadership and Growth

A fourth-generation entrepreneur, Paras Desai has been an integral part of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group since 1993. Under his guidance, the company has emerged as one of India’s largest packaged tea brands, with operations in 24 states and exports to over 60 countries.

He has spearheaded several pioneering initiatives, including the setup of an NABL-accredited in-house testing laboratory, the launch of instant tea premixes, wellness blends, and the creation of Wagh Bakri Tea Lounges. Desai is also the President of the Western India Tea Dealers Association, further reflecting his active involvement in advancing the tea trade.

Paras Desai holds a Diploma in Management Studies from Ohio State University (USA) and is a skilled tea taster with over 30 years of hands-on experience. Beyond business, he champions numerous CSR initiatives, with a strong focus on women’s empowerment, education, and community rehabilitation.
