Qantas Rolls Out ‘Economy Plus’ Extra Legroom Seats Across Fleet
Qantas is introducing a new Economy Plus seating option that gives travellers more legroom and extra comfort, starting on selected aircraft and routes this week.
Qantas has introduced a new seating option called Economy Plus that offers passengers extra legroom and some added perks, beginning this week as flights begin to operate with the updated cabin layout.
Economy Plus provides travellers with noticeably more space between rows compared with standard economy seats. The airline is also offering priority boarding and easier access to overhead baggage areas as part of this package.
The first flights with Economy Plus seating are scheduled to start on 6 February. Initially, this option will be available on Qantas’ Boeing 737, Airbus A220 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft. Later in the year, the airline plans to extend the product to its larger Airbus A330 fleet on longer international routes.
Passengers can choose and book Economy Plus seats when they make their reservation or anytime before check‑in, subject to availability. Frequent flyers with higher status may receive complimentary access to these seats depending on their tier level and the ticket they hold.
Economy Plus is part of Qantas’ broader effort to offer more comfort and choice for travellers, particularly on busy domestic and short‑haul international services. The extra room and priority features aim to make flying more comfortable without passengers needing to move to premium cabins
