DENVER, June 17, 2026 — Curry and Grill 2, the Indian and Nepali restaurant at 1320 E. 17th Ave. in Denver's Uptown, is shifting its focus toward Nepali food under owner Suman K C. Since taking over in July 2025, K C has reworked the menu, the space and the drinks list to spotlight a cuisine he says is growing in popularity across the city.

The changes turn what was a serviceable neighborhood spot into a more upscale destination. They also reflect a wider rise in Nepali dining in Denver, which K C links to local immigration drawn by the climate and the nearby mountains.

How Curry and Grill 2 Changed Under New Ownership

K C added a patio, revamped the interior with white tablecloths and refined the service. He also pared down the menu so the restaurant's strongest dishes stand out.

The reworked lineup now includes a small "Top of the Himalayas" section built around Nepali snacks. Those plates often sit in the shadow of better-known dishes such as tikka masala and saag paneer. Diners who want to cook at home can browse a collection of Indian and South Asian recipes for ideas.

Nepali Beers and 30 Taps on the Drinks List

On the beverage side, K C installed 30 beer taps featuring both local and national favorites. The list also carries hard-to-find Nepali bottles, including Gorkha Strong, alongside a cocktail menu.

The drinks expansion sits at the center of the restaurant's broader push to present Nepali food and culture to a wider Denver audience.

From a Boulder 7-Eleven to Restaurant Owner

The upgrades draw on years of experience. While still living in Nepal, K C opened the Blue Moon Inn in 2010, which he says was the first restaurant and bar in his town to host live music.

After emigrating to Colorado in 2016, K C worked at a 7-Eleven in Boulder before joining a local Indian restaurant. "In that kitchen, I dreamed a dream of becoming the owner of a restaurant," he said.
